A special award should go to BBC TV and Radio. They put on a superb coverage of the Olympics with all 29 sports being shown in multi-channel broadcasting and commentators enthusiastic across the range of events. The challenge for the BBC now is to develop their sporting schedule to include all those sports in which people have found a new interest (and not those sports programmes with glum broadcasters bemoaning that Sky has got all the football and they can just show highlights).
