Hiya,
Can anyone tell me, if they were driving from Calis to Kusadasi (Aydin) apart from the Gocek tunnel are there any motorway tolls to pay en-route?
I know you can get a prepaid card from PTT which you put in the windscreen and just slow down at the booth as you pass,
but if there are no tolls then there would be no point in getting one.
If anyone knows what i would need to ask for in Turkish at the PTT also that would be great.
When we drove Izmir last year we went in a hire car and as we went past the booths they made a strange noise but nothing else so we carried on , only to find out later that we had incurred a fine for the hire company.
As we now have a car of our own i just wanted to be sure this time ha ha.
Thanks in advance.
Alan.

Hi Alan,
I made exactly that journey in a hire car recently, I went to the PTT who demanded that the boss of the company came in and filled in paperwork for my tolls windscreen sticker. I paid my money and set off all excited and waiting to sail through any tolls. Got to the Gocek tunnel and they charged me, then didn't see another toll the whole journey !

There's a rumour that the Gocek Tunnel will convert to electronic payment next year when the second bore opens..

We drove up to Ephesus last week via Aydin - all dual carriageway D400 & D550 - and no tolls. We actually went over the mountain at Gocek - for nostalgia so we didn't even pay there.
