Does anyone know if or when Ahmed at Meeting Point is going to open? I said that I'd never come for less than 3 weeks but hey-ho, booked on Monday and coming on Friday for 8 days to have a short break with grand kids who came on 18th.

Was not open last night nor were there any sign that he will do.

Looks doubtful he will re-open this year :(
-
Heard that meeting point won't be opening this year :'( summer rose next door is having to sweep & wash down from Eddie's silver & meeting point as all the street / road dust just goes along the empty premises.
-
Arrived in Calis on Monday, was told last night that Meeting Point is opening in 3 days.
-
We arrive on the 3rd, hope Meeting point is open by then :)
-
Meeting point not open yet but there was movement tonight at the restaurant as if they were preparing to open. Ali’s bar now open and Brothers have started setting up.
-
Good info guys - please keep it coming :)
-
From FB: Meeting Point will open asap, Ahmet has travelled down from his home to get things started.
-
Meeting point still not open but tables set out. Looks like they are expanding a bit to the left as you look at the restaurant taking over some floor space of a jewellers that hasn’t opened. Brothers opened tonight.

Meeting point is now open 🥳

Hope Ahmet can keep open through October. Great, bubbly man who always remembers us and gives us a lovely welcome. :)
-
He does indeed Dennis, wish we could be there this year to see him and all the other bars/restaurants that we usually see. Next year we'll make up for it
-
Let's hope the virus stays under control in Turkey, Glenys. We are due in Calis for a couple of weeks in October this year and again for three weeks in May next year. I'd hate to miss out. :)
-
Fingers crossed for you, and everyone else, Dennis. We're usually our for a month in October but, having been shielding for over 4 months and just starting to go out and mix with people all over again, flying anywhere this year is not really an option unfortunately. I hope everyone who does get out to Calis this year has a great time and spends lots of money to
keep the bars, restaurants and shops going over the winter. Let'sbe honest with today's exchange rate there's no excuse ;) ;D

Does anyone know if Mr oo la la Ahmet is taking over Edie’s shop when we went past on the bus yesterday there were his wooden chairs & tables on Edi’s front and I seem to recall reading that sadly Edi sister was having to sell up.
Seemed strange seeing the tables and no little Edi dog laid down out the front bless him.
