Mike, can you please inform us why Pete Sampras arrived late. You must know as you have chosen to interpret it as a sign of disrespect [:(!] To add to Scunner's and Jukebox's assertions that you don't understand tennis, I would go further to say you don't understand sport and it's concepts.

Ken as you have opted to join the chorus of disapproval at my remarks I find it it sad that you, with others, feel the need to assert that I don't understand sport and it's concepts just because I disagree with you.
I played Basketball for ten years in a local team, was a young gymnast, played table tennis
to a good level and was for years a seeded player in the British Carromm association, coming fifth  in the last all England final that I played in.
This, of course has nothing to do with yesterdays game, I do not dispute the skill of the players, but a defensive game won on who can serve the most aces makes for Boring, Boring tennis and this game was disappointing in the extreme.
PS.
I neither know or care why Sampras Turned up late.

"Yes but sadly for Mike the days of Fred Perry v Mr Chumley Warner are long passed."

As long as the likes of Lleyton Hewitt is around we will still see some good passionate
tennis games. ;)

Does anyone remember the 1977 Borg v Vitus Gerulaitis semi-final. That really was a game of tennis :)

Most memorable Wimbledon Final for me was Stan Smith v Ilie Nastase in 1972, must confess to looking  up the year though.

I enjoyed that but mostly for the surprise of the form book being turned upside down and the favourite getting beaten!

I can do without the grunting though  ;)
