Can't remember doing this. sorry it's a bit late!

Hi Everyone

As the title suggests, I can't remember if I have done this before, or if I was a bit eager to just jump in to the action!

We are coming to Calis Beach in October, a little late in the season but couldn't afford it until then.  We have an 8 year old daughter and my mum is also coming with us, she is 78.  I am 43 and my wife is 41 and we live in Scarborough North Yorkshire.

This will be our first foreign holiday since 2006.  Unfortunately I became very ill then and have been unable to fly.  We went to Blackpool last summer and the lady we hired our caravan from has an apartment in Calis, in fact she has 2 now.  So after lots of persuading, my GP finally gave me the all clear to fly later this year.  I have a number of medical problems but manage to get by with a bucket full of pills every day and lots of high powered pain medication.

Regretably I can't work because of my health problems, hence asking for lots of info on here about making your money stretch as far as possible.  We can't always afford to it in style but at least we are managing to get a holiday, which I know a lot of people don't, so I am grateful for that.

I must say I am delighted I found this website as the people on it are so friendly and helpful that I feel like I belong before I have got there.  I am already hoping we can do it again next year.

If you are prepared to go for Breakfast al fresco at the villa...picnic type lunches and perhaps avoid the touristy type restaurants along the front you can have a very cheap holiday....the wonderful sunshine is the same if you spend a pound or fifty. eat in at home then go out and people watch
the food is cheap as long as you dont eat red meats
which are expensive here so bring your bacon and sausages with you
the weather will do you a power of good.
