Not at all stoop if he is ripping people off he needs to be named and shamed and in the end when he wonders why the word has gone around to avoid him he will be told why!!

If you have hair and like it styled then the haircut will cost more. I use the barber on the same street as the Scarlett Bar and he charges 10 lira which I double up as he gives a massage and generally tidies up the other hair in my ears and nose which I wish would grow on my head.

that is about the going rate apparantly ill prob go to that one myself in sept when we go back -cheers pal :>

Still my remember my first haircut (was in Altinkum a few years ago and a newbie to Turkey) - it was the weirdest experience I had had: went in for a trim-and-go as you do in England - using sign language (as you do as a newbie)!

All was going as expected until the chap lit a fire and wafted hot cotton wool balls in my ears.  That was a surprise!  The head massage was unexpected but nice.  And then the shoulder and arm massage was back to scary (thoughts of "massage prices" being added to the bill)

But my first "haircut"?  Ended up paying a small price - and very chuffed to have a "Turkish Tale" to tell for a year afterwards!

(and the aformentioned barber in this thread: a young chap tried to charge 20 lr last year for a trim-and-go, his older colleague behind me must have shaken his head and given him a glare - and 10 lr it was)

Only in Turkey - which is why we keep coming back and back!  :) :D

BTW - welcome bel.j!!
