We've goto the Calis bug too
My husband and I have now been to three of the Thomson hotels, Mutlu, Harman and Oykun. Have managed to get booked into the Oykun for May 2011.
We have had some wonderful times in Calis and met some great people Turkish and English.
The English lady who runs the bakery, up the side street where the Dawn Beach is on the corner, makes great cakes and sandwiches - she is really helpful and lovely to talk to.
Even though the Harman is a few minutes walk from Calis centre, we found it a great hotel and the pool area was, in our opinion, one of the prettiest.
The Mutlu has a beach front position but we found our room very noisy at night from the Bedouuin tent restaurant which went on until 3.00a.m. most nights. Our rep said they should stop at midnight or the police would prosecute but this never happened in two weeks were there.
Overall we really enjoyed the Oykun - wonderful staff and the Turkish Bath underneath the reception area is a great find as you can escape to your room immediately afterwards and have a nice rest!
The variety of food in the breakfast room was great - best we have had overall.
I doubt anyone who goes to the Oykun will be disappointed with the cleanliness, friendliness of the staff (Goldie and Oykun especially).
Hope my comments are helpful to newies to Calis.
