"Embrace"

"Embrace" charity Calis. We hold a charity sale every Wednesday morning 11am until 1pm. Clothes...household...books    in fact anything saleable so donations always very welcome. Usually home made cake on offer too so join us and have a coffee at the same time after browsing through our seven rails of clothing. We are in a lovely position on the seafront in Calis at Dennis the Menace cafe which is just past the Nil Bar. Donations can be collected if necessary and all the money raised goes to help local children. Our recent project was with the co-operation of Fetav to contact every school in the Mugla area to determine which children had eye sight problems. We paid for tests plus spectacles for those in need of them plus medication and all transport costs as many children had to be taken to Antalia hospital. All this was at a cost of approx 8000 lira but it is an ongoing project as we are still paying for transportation but the government has now declared that treatment from now on will be free to children once they are registered We donated 2000 lira towards a racing wheelchair for Yusef who has lost the use of his legs through Polio but his upper body strength is  good and he is in training  for the para olympics. We were able to purchase carpets and air conditioning units for  a nursery school in Gunlukbasi .....cost 3000 lira and also working alongside the Carnival committee we gave 500 lira towards a new Pinball machine for the boys orphanage . A further 500 lira was spent on medals and cups for  the childrens chess tournament and also  2000 lira for two students scholarships for a year. So we may be a small charity but we feel we have made a necessary difference where it was needed

Mavis, Embrace may be a "small" charity but it has a massive heart and you and your ladies work very hard to raise money for some very worthwhile causes.  On behalf of the Calis Children's Charity (fomerly the Calis Carnival Committee) I would like to say that we are all very pround and pleased to be associated with Embrace and we hope to be involved in many more joint projects in the future.

See you all soon

Chrissie x  :)

You will certainly have a good choice of worthwhile causes to help with but if you are looking for one that has a  wonderful social side as well then look no further than the Calis Childrens Charity.Really lovely group of people who actually have fun raising the money . I am also on their committee as well as "Embrace" and can highly recommend joining them .
