The winter season of the Çalış Children’s Charity Darts and Pool League came to a successful close on Monday when the presentation of shields to the two wınnıng teams and the finals of the knock out championship took place at a special presentation evening at PJ's Bar.
The popular league, which for the fourth year running was kindly sponsored by Cenk and Olga of Çalış estate agents, Interturk Estates, has been running on Monday nights throughout the winter months with teams representing 10 Çalış bars and restaurants taking part.
Competition was fierce in both leagues but in the end last years pool winners, PJ's, achieved a magnificent double . They retained the pool trophy by a mere three points from hotly pursuing Anna's Gardens, in fact at the end only 5 points seperated the top 4 teams. In the darts they were clear winners, romping home a clear 25 points ahead of unbeaten champions Seril.
In the month leading up to the presentation all of the bars held a knock out competition in both pool and darts and the final took place that evening. For the third year running Kelvin Duffin (Eyna Restaurant) won the cup for the 2013 Darts Championship, runner up was Barry Quinlan
The 2013 Pool Champion cup was won by a delighted Gürsel Dereli (Seril) with last years champion Martin Simms being runner up.
Cenk presented the winners with their cups and shields and the runners up received medals. 3C's League organisers Graham Whitaker, Kevin Dennis and Mick McCauley then thanked Cenk and Olga for their continuing support and presented them with flowers. They also thanked everyone who had supported the league throughout the season as well as hosts PJ's for providing a great venue and good food for the presentation night.
A raffle was then held to raise money for the 3C's - with Olga winning the Thorntons chocolates!
All of the money raised from the league membership fees goes to the 3C's charity, helping to fund projects for needy children in the local Calis/Fethiye area.
