Sorry to be picky.....The cars visa lasts 180 days not 6 months.....the visa shows the VIN number as well as the registration so somethings gonna match and give you some explaining to do.

One of our team has just driven down this week and the very detailed experience will be posted on our website shortly. I'll post the link on this thread.

Always one to beat the system- sorry- as the buzzwordy people annoyingly say, "think out the box" or "push the envelope"

- have two cars, stick one outside country in peasants barn in Rhodes or (whereever) and have another in Turkey, every 180 days swop them. The finer details work out thru trial and error.!!!

I wonder? if the car not in Turkey for more than 180days do you have to pay the annual tax??? hmmm now i'm thinking.

Dipps

I had on my "triptik" entry 3rd of August, valid until 3 febuary which makes 184 days.

Dippey, your system is all well and good but you can only bring each car in twice for a six month stint and then thats it.

Just for you Dippey,

When coming to Turkey, international air routes should be followed. Private planes may stay for up to three months in Turkey with tourist status, but for longer periods permission should be obtained from;
Gumrukler Genel Mudurlugu
(The General Directorate of Customs) Ulus Ankara
Tel: (312) 310 38 80, 310 38 18,Fax: (312) 311 1346
The airports of Ankara, Adana, Istanbul, Izmir, Antalya, Trabzon and Dalaman have ties for private planes. It is also possible to hire planes and helicopters in Turkey.
For further information, apply to;
Ulastirma Bakanligi, Havacilik Genel Mudurlugu
(The Civil Aviation Department of the Ministry of Transport)
Bosna-Hersek Cad., No: 5 - 06338 - Emek, Ankara
Tel: (312) 212 67 30, Fax: (312) 212 46 84
