I Could Eat a Horse

Princess Anne wants a debate on this issue. So, by Royal Command, should eating horsemeat be encouraged in the UK to improve standards of horse welfare?

I don't have a problem with this, after all, people all around the world eat so many things that we wouldn't think of, on a daily basis, some of which we in western culture would not dream of, such as dog, snake, scorpion etc. Even small songbirds as they do here in Turkey.

Evidently - since the horse meat scandal it's become much more sought after in the UK. No problem with me.

Had some tripe tapas the other week in Barca. Lovely - but looks like sick  :)

Maybe eating horse meat is the reason that most of the "royals ", & their consorts, have a very strong horsey look !! In that case, let THEM eat a lot more of it !!

A few years ago I would not have been bothered, but now, as my Daughter in Law has two horses, Hugo and Beth and I go out and stroke them and give them carrots, I have become very fond of them,  they are family pets, so, on that basis I would not eat horse, it would be like eating our cat.

Horse with carrots - just add a bit of mash ........ mmmmm ;-)

I know what you mean Jacqui - I wouldn't eat dog for the same reason.
