Band uniforms and instruments were top of the wish list for a village school when they put in a request for help from the 3C’s earlier this year.
The school at Günesli, located on the Saklikent road, wanted to start a school band but they only had a handful of instruments between them. A few months ago members of the 3C’s committee visited the school and after meeting with the enthusiastic music teacher and the children, they agreed to help out and agreed to purchase both instruments and uniforms.
Members of our charity returned to the school earlier this month and were met by the youngsters, resplendent in their smart bright red band uniforms, who had been practicing hard on their new drums and trumpets for the visit. They were then treated to a music parade around the school playground.
Our members then had a tour of the school where the children showed off their artwork.
They then met with the local imam who explained to them just how important the band was for the village and who thanked the charity for their help. We are now passing on this thanks to all of our supporters who help to make projects like this one happen.
We are now hoping that the children will be able to perform at our annual Christmas Fair in Çalış on 7 December.
