I have friends in Liverpool and I have not heard this from them.  They are sad at her passing and made no mention of her Politiical views.
When you think about it, just how many famous people have come from poor roots made good and have not had to follow the poltics of their parents?
I voted Labour and thought Tony Blair was wonderful.  After voting for him, in the following years, I realise he was more Tory than the Tories.  I think a lot of people realised that and felt totally let down and disillusioned with the Labour Party. Maybe Cilla did too?

Or maybe her politics changed when she had loads of money to consider.

Possible, like a lot of other celebrities and particularly the tax exiles.  At least she stayed in Britain and paid her taxes.

"...and bears no comparison"

Good grief - that's why I said that there was absolutely no comparison !.

The point I was trying to make was that that not everyone who line the streets at celebrity funerals are fans or even care about the person involved.

In my opinion a percentage of them only turn up out of curiosity.

And yet she died at her home in Spain.

don't really get this attitude about keeping my opinion to myself,so Jacqui and Davybill I couldn't care less what you think. My opinions are as valid as anyone else's and just because someone has died does not make them a saint or even better than they were.As I said before second rate Cilla

Yes. we have a home in Turkey we also have always paid our taxes in the U.K.  Unfortunately, accidents can happen abroad.

I was never a great fan of Cilla but others were or she would not have had such a great following.

I pay respect to Cilla and her family and acknowledged the fact she was loved by many.

It was her holiday home in Spain not her main residence which is in the UK. I read she hadn't even been out there for quite a while before she died.
