Migros card
« on: November 08, 2015, 09:53:27 AM »
Can anyone tell me if its worth while signing up for supermarket cards like Migros. I am asked each time I visit but not sure of the benifits.
I would be grateful for any advise
Thank you

Yoshi, I think the cards are 1 tl and you will see offers around the store that are only available with a migros card.

They're better than a Tesco Clubcard or a Nectar card because you get an instant discount on certain items and don't have to mess about with vouchers.

When we arrive we do a massive shop at the big migros in fethiye. The savings are always enough to cover the taxi back to calis.

We don't live there, but we are there a lot and always use a loyalty card. It's worth it    :)

Well worth 1L.

The "yellow - stickered " items show two prices (the yellow sticker shows the discounted price) and there is a white sticker with the "normal" price.

I don't think the discounts appear on well - known brands but certainly on many of their own products.

Having said that, for the first main shop I use the Kippa superstore which has a vast choice and is, I think, quite a bit cheaper for many items.

I have made substantial savings in the local Migros - it's only 50 yards away and ideal for convenience shopping.

The discounts are more often on branded products, as opposed to own label. Also, the Migros money club card is valid in Tansas too, as they are part of the same company

They also run special promotions which you can qualify for when you spend more than 50 lira in one go - not free, but very cheap.

For example, I have had in the past a kilo of minced beef for 5 lira; a 5 litre can of sunflower oil for 7 lira; a pack of 12 cans of Coke for 5 lira. Also, you are entitled to this for every 50 lira you spend, so if you spend 200 lira you can have four of whatever it is they are offering.
