Coming out in January

Hi Everyone.  Just to say that the 'Off Plan' we were going to buy did not materialise but we came back in August and bought a ready built villa in Calis Beach. It's just behind the Golden Moon Houses and about 15 minutes from the main strip.  We are looking forward to coming out again in January 2006 to furnish it (and pay the last instalment).
Does anyone know of anyone selling up an apartment or villa that needs to sell their furniture and fittings around January (or any other) time?  We have seen the classifieds in the 'Land of Lights' with apartment / villa clearances but wondered if you guys knew of any impending moves.
Is there anything that you brought over from the UK that you recommend bringing over?  We'd hate to waste our luggage allowance on something easily available or cheaper in Turkey.
We'd love to meet up and have a drink and a chat with anyone who would like to meet with us when we come over.  Is there a particular bar where people meet?  We have been to the Forum Bar and had some nice meals there but we were wondering if there were other places.  How do you recognise each other?  Do you wear badges or copies of The Times under your left arm wearing a carnation?  Pray tell...LOL.
Please reply, as we'd love to be part of 'The Crowd' when we come over.

Congratulations on your purchase.  We found everything we needed to furnish in the Fethiye area so you won't have a problem and the delivery service is really quick.  Unfortunately we can't get over in January but I'm sure other members will be lucky enough to be there!  Have a great time.

What Happened to off-plan purchase?
WE are in the process of stage payments of an off-plan 3 bed duplex by the new hospital in chalis. If all goes to plan we will be out in January to fit up as well. Doing lots of research at the moment. E-Mail if you want, we can help each other  .

Hi, welcome and congratulations. We live not far from the golden moon houses(if its the same ones), we are often found in Aydins Pizza or Alis cafe both great places near to you. Very big question in what to bring, getting more and more expensive here,if anything specific please ask away or email. Heard about quite a few returning back to Uk and seeing more house clearances in Land of Lights.

Hi everyone, thanks for the good wishes and advice.  The 'off plan' purchase that fell through was not anyone in particular's fault, more like petty bureaucracy by the council planners. C'est la vie.
There is no problem at all with the Golden Moon developments, we were shown the plans and taken to see the partial builds and they look fabulous. We also visited and spoke to many happy purchasers and they were all praise for Mete and his staff.
We bought our villa through Mete at The Golden Moon and we too are very pleased with the service he and his team have provided and are still providing.  
The villa we eventually bought, we had seen on a previous visit. Ideally we would have liked to have had a place that would have been completed next June(06) as it fitted in better with our work commitments but we just bought our plans forward so it has worked out well.  
We will post our plans for our January visit nearer the time so we can sort out a good time / place to meet some of you guys, to whet the new baby's head ..... so to speak.
