Nic we were told by Erkin the owner of the Help Bar, that legally they cannot cordon off the areas outside their hotels. He told us to move a pot & park and if they confront us to say call the Jandarma as it is a public road and they have no authority to stop anyone parking there.
Will get brave enough to try it one day.

I saw the first car being loaded and towed away today - a taxi double parked and the pure cheek of him, he'd also blocked one of the three entrances of one of the hotels...

Fi/Eric, now, since when did a 'right or wrong' have anything to do with anything? These hotels, also usually the land owners have more clout in their little finger than the whole of the the membership of this forum!

But actually we did once park in a cordoned off area and told them to go right ahead and call the Jandarma and where to find us when (if) they came... nothing happened but not so sure I would try it now the tow trucks have arrived.

Common sense should be used. No one likes having to pay for most services including parking. Take Fethiye eight years ago hardly any cars on the road at all, now like it or not a car conjested town. Thank goodness for the marked and orgaised parking at a reasonable cost. Look at the benifits Fethiye has been able to generate with the income. Olu Deniz is no exception, car conjestion. Us very people that complain are the same people who will say Olu Deniz Beli should be doing the same. Say what you like Keramettin and his team have done a good job over the years and cash is obviously in short supply for ALL the things that need attention. Remember Olu Deniz Beli extends to the top of the Fethiye big hill and includes Hisaronu and Ovacik.

Remember it is the tourist and property owner who have created the monster, maybe to get all we request we should contribute more. Do we want suburbia or be more towards the natural ideal, we prefer the happy medium.

Cars are a problem world wide not just in Olu Deniz. We give our parkin fee with a wry smile
