I got both of them the other week.

The plug idea is great but I have nothing to use it with. My TV is attached to a Freeview PVR which cannot be turned off as it will not record. My DVD player needs to be on standby all the time otherwise I have to re-set the time every time I boot it up (it's also a recorder). Apart form that I have nothing else to use it with.

The water widget thingy is useless and water drips from it all over the place. Tried it on both showers and took it off in the end.

If anyone wants them I'll post them out. Just pm me with your address (UK only please).

Doesn't the "energy saving plug" use electricity ?

Just turn off your socket
No electricity, no standby usage

Easy

O.K. we have a free offer of an item usually costing £19.99  no obligation, just send for it..
I am amazed that some people still have to find a reason to complain.:(:-\

Just because it's free doesn't mean it's perfect. My parents in law had one fitted which turned off the tv, sky and video recorder. It was such a hassle waiting for everything to re-boot that they have now stopped using it.

As for the water widget - just take a shorter shower it's much less messy.

Seriously though - I'm sure the gadgets will be OK for some and not for others. They are free so give them a try and you never know.

I also think the other replies were a little tongue in cheek as per norm for the forum :)

I saw them and ordered one for both sets of parents to save them bending and pulling out electric plugs at night before going to bed.

We got ours and it's now working my Christmas Tree lights via my remote control for the television. Really good as it saves going under the tree at the back to switch the lights on and off.
