They made an announcement over the village about it in English.  But, lets face it, if you cant hear it clearly enough, you would be forgiven for assuming its another Turkish message and sometimes its hard to work out what is being said (tannoys in English can be tricky enough), LOL!!

That's correct Rindaloo. I have mentioned this to a council member and he will have a word with the lady announcer. The callers at the mosque always wait until the echo from the mountains fade to almost zero before moving onto their next phrase. It would also help if a different "jingle" for any message in English was played from the council office.

Yes, a different jingle would be a good idea.  I find the message is half way through before I realise its in English (but lets face it, English announcements are very rare).

I have to admit we didn't hear it either and we are only across from you. Anyone I am still in shock that the local Belediye have done something positive for us ex pats.  :o
