My husband who is Irish made a point of going into the Irish Bar when it opened and ordered a Guinness, but, of course, ended up with an Efes.  However, with all the lamb in Turkey I suppose they could make a big pot of Irish Stew and everyone could drink Irish Whiskey and think about the Black Stuff.

Of course the best place to drink it would be in the most famous and beautiful Victorian Irish Bar in the world in Belfast, The Crown,  we have the pleasure of sitting in one of the booths and having Irish Stew, Champ and Guinness.... Bliss  Have a look  http://www.crownbar.com/  I bet they will be having big celebrations.

Totally agree Jacqui - I have spent many happy evenings in The Crown playing Liar Dice with the locals (and losing). I stayed at the Europa Hotel which is across the road and at that time was known as the "Most Bombed Hotel in the World". I met Frank Carson in the residents bar one night after he had done a gig at the Civic Hall. I didn't get to bed until 4AM with my sides splitting - he never stopped telling jokes one after the other.

Oh Happy Days!

There may be a few tins around in calis. But they will be from last years promotion. If they are not in the calis Irish bar,it is possible a few may still be in the Nil bar at the back of the fridge.good luck if you like it J

There's loads of Guinness, much closer than Istanbul. Get yourselves over to Rhodes :D
