Mussels
« on: June 04, 2013, 08:29:22 AM »
Went to George's last night to spend the voucher won at the Auction.  At the end of the night the guy who sells mussels arrived and lots of the waiters where buying bags of them. Yousef from George's was speaking to us and we asked about the mussels.  He went over spoke to the guy and 5 minutes later a plate full was put on the table.  Yousef sat with us and ate them,  The plate was soon finished and Yousef ordered another.  Have to say I am so glad we did try them but where very full and wanted no dessert. Yousef point blank refused to let us pay for them.   We were just sayiing it's unusual to visit a restaurant and the waiter buys us food..... What lovely people they are here.  ;) ;D

The owner at The Eyna bought Barrie and I a plate of mussels last week and 2 other customers.. You are right Jcaqui its rare to get anything free in Calis despite being customers for years in some places... The Nil Bar and The meeting point being the other exceptions... Mozaic bachesi gave me and Barrie a complete three course meal with drinks on Saturday night to say thanks for all our charity work and just to say that they will miss us..a wonderful gesture...

Too right, 10 years of promoting the place and using the restaurants of Calis and I got more drinks on the house during a week in Spain than I ever got in a year in Turkey!
