Praising Turkey to the hilt,he would not hesitate in holidaying there saying that the tourist is safer than ever and the risk to the individual from terrorism is minimal. He states you are much more likely to be killed in a road or water related accident.

Yes, was also on "This Morning" last week saying the same things about Turkey and Egypt.  The clip of him speaking about Turkey is on F.B many people living in the Fethiye area are "sharing" it.

Yes, the £ is down against all the currencies that BBC Market Data publishes with the sole exception being the ₺. The £ having a bad day - down over 1% against $ and €; but the ₺ is having a very, very bad day - down over 2.25% against $ and €. So, still getting more to your £ as long as you only go to Turkey. Perhaps the country is getting back to the "old days" where the attraction of Turkey was how cheap it was ???

Inland yes.. it might be cheaper...  but tourist areas  ... wont let you get away with it unfortunately as they are all  well aware of the high exchange rates and will keep their prices  high to match it so you wont get away with it... Also in Hisaronu last season for example many businesses advertising their wares in sterling ... thats really unfair  :-*

If you go to Belek and  areas around Antalya. most of the shops are advertising in Euros'
because it attracts a lot of German tourists.

I have read many times visitors are told only to bring Euros to Belek.  Apparently, all the shops only price their products in Euros and all the taxi drivers only accept euros.  I also read that businesses do not want Lira and it is no good bringing it.   I realise this is against the law, but tourists do not.
