Will, Property & Possessions

Probably too simplistic - BUT - in view of previous posts stating how difficult it is to deal with wills if the male dies it got me thinking.

Like many others I suspect - we bought our apartment in joint names.
We opened joint bank accounts etc

Would we be better putting the apartment and our bank account in Gill's name - then if she makes a will and leaves everything to me - I will be her next of kin - so if she pops her clogs - it seems that it is easier for possessions to go to the man as opposed to the other way!

If I pop my clogs then it won't make any difference  :)

Now I know what you are thinking - we are getting married on the 31st May and before the ink is dry this could be a cunning plan by Gill to bump me off and run off to Turkey with a man half her age!

Call me an old romantic - but I will take the risk :D:D

Ps Just off for a Balti - so I will be out for a few hours!!  :)
