4 TL Compulsory EFES charge in Bars?

I have been told by a local Calis bar owner that they have been approached by a group of local " dignitaries " who have told the local bar - restaurant owners that they must charge at least 4 TL for a 50 cl bottle of efes.
The bar owner was unable or unwilling to explain who the members of this Cabal were.
A couple of Brit ex - pats had mentioned this during last week bit I had dismissed it as just a rumour until the bar owner brought the subject up.
My first thought was " surely no local authority could demand a minimum charge for efes ".
My second thought was " could this just be a ploy by local businesses to justify a price hike in the cost of beers? "
Has anyone out there heard of this price fixing Diktat?

Yep,have heard the same.Certainly need to shop around for ya beer.Think they pay something like 98 kurush off the brewery,so not a bad mark up.

i think they pay 1.75tl per bottle from the brewery,then they have to keep it cold{electricity not very cheap}then they have wages to pay,insurance,rent,700 pound a year for tv ,would you like me to go on.

I stand corrected on the price then.Please go on,i was trying to make an informed comment on the subject posted.I can get 24 bottles delivered for 44tl,to my door.Appreciate that bars,etc have there overheads to cover,and a crust to earn.Gonna crack an Efes open and chill,what d'ya say?

Yes i heard someone was asked in annas bar to report anyone selling too cheap ,i wonder if that because sell all Tuborg 2.5ytl 500cl draught

the local authority in hisaranou have made the bars etc charge a min 4tl for a beer so if it is going to happen in calis then fethiye must be next:(

Apparently they can shut you down for a few days if you do not comply (so I heard on the Hisaronu forum) I dont know of anywhere that has been though.
