Yes my other half is a US citizen, as far as I can see its not too much trouble for me to gain a permit for 5 year although at a cost of £800 (ouch!) Are there any special rules for US citizens gaining the same permit?

Cheers again

My other half is a US citizen too. Can't find the US rates anywhere. Cost him $100 for a 3m tourist visa just over a year ago but thankfully it went down to $20 last year.
If you get info from elsewhere please let us know too.
