Certainly seen a fair few tortoises over the last week and saw my first wild boar this year here too. Also found a rather large scorpion on the terrace last night.

The frogs have started singing too.  :)

Don't care how big they are - they're crunchy and they're bugs and I would be off……
My first purchase on every trip abroad is a can of bug spray - every nook and cranny gets a blast before I can do anything else (including the wardrobes before I unpack)
I am a definite wuss with buggy, slimy or slithery things - had a beautiful pond filled in last year because of the frogs leaping at me every time I walked around outside - eeee yuk!   :(

I'm not overly fond of insects and bugs but love frogs.

My 12yr old nephew, a budding entomologist, said the same, Scorcher.

I had one exactly the same, huge, it wandered into my apartment about 4 years ago,  the same day M went back to Uk for a couple of days. I saw it out of the corner of my eye in the evening moving/sliding across the lounge floor. I couldn't breathe! Terrified is an understatement! It's all those old Bond movies come to haunt. Well I'm afraid it was it or me and I had to kill it. My biggest fear was that it might have a family (nest) too. Never saw another.
