Talk of the Town closed
« on: June 18, 2014, 08:33:37 AM »
`Talk of the Town` is now`Talk of the village` as people are saying its closed down  by the Zabita due to no license for the last six years or so.
Both venue`s apparantly are finished and under investigation....

Also heard of another night club closed  due to no license

The `new` Zabita` around Hisaronu are certainly tightening the screw and enforcing laws....     Patrolling around.. looking and watching et

As for the  local music volume  problem.......in  11 years I have never heard our area of Hisaronu so quiet    :D   at last we can sleep  after midnight with windows open....  thank you Zabita if your responsible for that  ;D

Not sure if this is related but we are in Ovacik and there is a small hotel below where we are and when we were out in May around lunchtime the staff had decided to have the music around the pool what I consider quite loud. I think it is more for there entertainment that the guests!

We were sitting out reading and I started to get agitated by the noise, although they were for a change playing reasonable music. Well after sitting there stewing for a while I decided I would go and have a word. On goes my shirt and off I go with a nervous look from the missus.

In reception I ask for the manager and he comes to reception. We introduce each other and I explain where I am from (no not mars) and that the music is unreasonably loud and can it be turned down. He makes positive noises and we shake hands I thank him and off I go with not a punch thrown!

Walk back and there is no reduction in the volume. Take shirt off tell the missus how lucky he was to not get floored (vivid imagination I have!) and wait. Well after about 5 minutes volume goes down by about half, then a little lower and then totally turned down. Well I asked if it could be turned down not off but I am not complaining.

For the rest of our holiday there was no more loud music and I wondered if this was because the hotel bar owners/managers were aware that the Zabita are now more likely to enforce excessive noise.

The joy of not having to listen to " Alice, Alice who the f--k is Alice" at about 22.30 was great!!

This is the facebook page of Fethiye Belediye Environment Protection Department.

https://www.facebook.com/fethiyecevrekoruma

I send them messages when I have complaints about noise etc. I think if anybody feels disturbed like me , they also should send a message ... the more the effective. Language should play no significant role while messaging I guess.
