Without doubt go and see Saffet at the garden centre opposite the Morning Star Bar on the main Ovacik road - he can order it for you and have it delivered to you.

We had bought wood from various places but found the guy that Saffet deals with has the best quality. We also found that softwood was far better than hardwood. Yes hardwood burns for slightly longer but just doesn't give off the heat like softwood does. Also ask for it in sacks as it is far easier to keep dry than a loose load.

The problem with burning just softwood is that the chimney/flue gets "tarred up" over the course of time. A mixture of the two seems to work.

I used to have a stove in my shop and I always used to like to burned peat.  Lovely smell.  I remember my American customers, used to ask me what it was and then they used to pick it up and look at it.

Unfortunately the nearest peat bog to Calis might be in the county of Sutherland   ;)
