Have you tried the Post Office website as a guide

Yes, thanks highlands. I wanted to see what is happening over there and to see if anyone can offer any better companies to use other than the post office.

I don't think there is any question that whatever the rate is in the UK you will get more over in Turkey every time.

It's actually the Pedantry Police  :)

The döviz next to my old office near Taksim Sq. was buying GBP at just over 4.31 this afternoon.

Dunno why you don't just Google it, it's not as if the info isn't readily available...

I very, very rarely comment on things like this but I suspect BernieTeyze just wondered if anybody who happened to be reading knew the answer to this.  Usually there is a flood of "it's so and so price in Calis today".  Instead, that is probably the most unhelpful succession of comments I have ever seen on the forum.  If you don't know, why answer?  Just go onto the next item.

I did know.  I answered when the question was asked.  On the unhelpfulnessometer it hardly makes the needle swing...

Take a look at this website to give you a good idea of what you will get if you exchange Sterling for Lira and the best place to get it.

Also to see the Bank Rate every day this is the Official Turkish site  www.doviz.com
