You had to pay?

Us poor 'uns got in free.

Opportunities for an excellent education (which I duly squandered with less than impressive exam results).

Scraped through them all though - but only just.

I think they tolerated my continued presence because, as an abject coward, I ran very fast on the rugby pitch.

Cost 'em a fortune for summer and winter uniforms, rugby kit, PE kit, cricket whites, a woodworking apron, a trumpet for music lessons, summer trips to the South of France (actually, St Tropez before it was "discovered" ), CCF uniform and camps etc.

They were the worst 5 years of my life.

My eyes!!

Just had this image of a KKOB playing a trumpet on the beach at St. Tropez whilst wearing nothing but a woodworking apron.

Don't know about your rough five years. I just had a rough five minutes.

Ah well.........I suppose it does save me buying a video this weekend.

I can see why you come on here. You must get very lonely in that strange little world of yours.

Is it a blood test or a spelling test your talking about?

Spelling. It's "you're" not "your".  ;)

"Your" is spelled correctly.

Just used wrongly.

Davybill: I was happier then and I had NOTHIN'. We used to live in this tiiny old house, with greaaaaat big holes in the roof.

KKOB: House? You were lucky to have a HOUSE! We used to live in one room, all hundred and twenty-six of us, no furniture. Half the floor was missing; we were all huddled together in one corner for fear of FALLING!

Davybill: You were lucky to have a ROOM! *We* used to have to live in a corridor!

KKOB: Ohhhh we used to DREAM of livin' in a corridor! Woulda' been a palace to us. We used to live in an old water tank on a rubbish tip. We got woken up every morning by having a load of rotting fish dumped all over us! House!? Hmph.

Davybill: Well when I say "house" it was only a hole in the ground covered by a piece of tarpolin, but it was a house to US.
