Safety second
« on: May 07, 2018, 16:45:12 PM »
The beach in Calis now has a cordon of rope and red and white floats from the Letoon Hotel right down to almost the SAT restaurant. It goes from the seashore out about 50 to 70 yards. I presume this is for the safety of swimmers, yet many people go outwith the area and swim. Why do they do this? Is it because because their attitude is no one is going to tell me where to swim, or maybe they would like to be hit on the head by a wind surfer or motor boat. How much water do they need to swim? But ten out of ten to the council for making it safer for most swimmers.  Rant over, going for a beer.

Perhaps they're vying for nominations for the Darwin Awards.

I think it may have more to do with keeping motor boats & windsurfers away from the turtles
