Well after all the procrastinating my original problem still exists. I installed Malwarebytes which did not address my problems but blocked a few pages that I didn't need it to. On other advice I tried CCleaner which is still running. I'm still getting the malware, only "on the back" of CBF and at this moment I have a background sound like someone walking in crispy snow. This is among other sound intrusions that I am getting on CBF??

Still having problems with background sound effects and pop-up ads. I decided to uninstall then reinstall CBF. However on the page where I usually change or uninstall programs it's not there. So how do I go about it? Any help gratefully accepted.

Install CBF?

I guess you've done all the usual and cleared the cookies, history etc

Thanks Nichola. I think I've done all that plus I've downloaded and tried two different malware progs.
I'll repeat the cookies and browsing history thing and see if it helps.

Its really does sound like you've got malware of some description, its basically hijacking your browser.

Try downloading Tor browser and see if you're still getting same issues: https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en

Hi John. Thanks for your advice. I've just tried to download Tor only to be told that it is blocked. Google states that some countries block it. Is Turkey one of them.

My other concern is that I am not getting problems anywhere other than CBF. G mail, facebook all fine.

Ok, try this one: https://www.epicbrowser.com/

I'm sure its a local issue, i.e. your machine or browser.  CBF is hosted by Heart Internet and they actively scan for nasties or malware - and they're pretty vicious, even a hint and they disable the web site immediately.

A bit late on this one, sorry. If you still have trouble, try this. https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/
As you can see it's from Malwarebytes but not the same program. They took over the app a few years ago. It doesn't install. Just download and run.
