The way in which the team and especially their manager conducted themselves was hugely impressive

But in your opinion did England (ranked 12) overachieved by getting to the semi-final.

Group Stages:
Progressed to knock out stages by scraping a last minute win against Tunisia (21), slaughtering the mighty Panama (55) and losing to Belgium (3).

Consensus of opinion then was that they had the “easier” route through to the later stages.

Round of 16:
Beat Colombia (16) on penalties after losing late goal.

Quarter Finals:
Beat Sweden (24) with Jordan Pickford man of the match.

Semi Final:
Beaten by Crotia (20).

(Usual caveats such as only being able to beat what is put in front of you etc. And yes I do know that Scotland didn't qualify).

Well now surprisingly I think that's a very fair assessment of how things turned out.
