Buying tips
« on: January 15, 2019, 10:21:54 AM »
Hi all, our flights are booked for February and we have viewings booked with Olga and
Cenk from Interturk.   Just wondered if anyone had any tips on do's and don'ts of buying property in Calis.  :)

Have a budget and stick to it
don't just look at the property look at the whole area
don't count on holiday rentals to fund the mortgage
if theirs empty land in view guaranteed it will be built on

Just to let you know you have chosen very well with Cenk & Olga - I was involved with real estate in Turkey for a good number of years and would recommend Interturk - no skeletons in the cupboard, no scandal, great friends now and a long list of satisfied customers.

If I could offer just one (and I have many!!) piece of advice it would be to work out exactly where the property you are interested in is. Walk to the prom, or at least get your bearings. Too many people buy a property because they fall in love with it and in the blur of multiple viewings didn't note where it was in relation to bus stops, beaches, shops etc.

Good luck with the search, enjoy it - it shouldn't be a stressful experience and with Cenk I am sure it won't be.

Even if the builder insists "this area in front is Park, no building allowed" (Hanel Houses)

Anyone care to guess whether the above "park" is still unbuilt on? :D

Budget, location, what are you going to use it for as we all get carried away with sizeand fitting out when in reality you may use it a few times a year.Be prepared not to make money on it.

I'd rent for a year first (unless it's for a holiday home  !)

Totally agree re Scunner saying about the empty land near properties will get built on.
We found ourselves in that situation years back, we were told one piece of land would possibly become a park in the future, we thought ok we can live with that, that is now a complex and it ruined our in the distance view of the river, the 2nd piece we were told was “protected land” that is now next door an apartment block and I lost my lovely getting up to some cows tethered and grazing of a morning...we have seen sooo many buildings go up on any spare piece of land and even more areas cleared ready since we left in November & have come back!
