Anyone know Kemer?
« on: April 04, 2006, 18:06:32 PM »
I'm still looking for a property and have seen a couple of lovely places (from the net pics anyway) in Kemer - looks like not too difficult a drive - green on the map not mountains - on the Fethiye/Antalya road, but wondered how developed the town is. Is it a town? Does it have a supermarket? broadband?
Any advice gladly received.

If you mean the Kemer that's about 15 miles outside of Fethiye on the way to Saklikent, it's got a shopping centre that is the equivalent of a large village in the uK. No supermarkets that I've noticed but you seem to be able to get most things. Very much a farming community. You'll definitely need your own transport if you're thinking of living there.

Mark, If you go to search and put Kemer in as topic and cover it for the last month, you will find more information about the village which might be of help to you.  By the way it is in the foothills of the mountains and is an absolutely beautiful setting.  Good Luck.

Kemer is so lovely, a small supermarket, a few internet cafes, a riverside cafe with a fountain and fantastic views, especially in the winter when there is snow on the hills. It takes 20 mins to drive to Fethiye, dolmus costs 2 lira.

It is proposed to build a new 9 hole golf course here next to an Infinety project. I was shown around by Infinety at the end of June.
Lovely setting but too remote for me although I was told a lot of investment was going into the area.
