Post by: andynic on April 12, 2016, 05:05:42 AM
Hi, i am looking to drive to Turkey in the next month, taking with me two dogs, has anyone recently done the journey? looking at stopping several times onroute at pet friendly hotels, have done some research but would like some recommendations if possible for hotels and route, and anything to avoid etc.

and anything to avoid etc.

I'd avoid feeding the dogs anything that makes them fart a lot.  Then again, if you asked the dogs, they might say the same about you.

I've driven from the UK to Turkey 6/7 times in the last 14 years but never with dogs or staying in hotels, we had a motorhome. Which ever way you come, overland or ferry it is a very ambitious trip especially with the refugee crisis at present.

There's also the pet passports to consider see  https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/390396/pet-travel-scheme-dec-2014-guidance.pdf

If you need any advice with routes I can help you as we have used most of the options available.
