This sounds really good.  Is the reception good or does it pause a lot.  Is it possible to get the image from your computer to your TV screen, and if so how do you go about it.  We have the 49TL internet connection which is basic speed and no download limit - would this work.

Any info greatly appreciated.

Have a similar system in place.....to use your tv screen just needs two leads from your computer to tv :)

Yes it is
You need a 15 pin PC to LCD TV VGA Cable.
Of course that is if you have a LCD TV.  :D

Is it likely to last? I don't want to cancel Digiturk if this is going to be out of action in 6 months. What is the "something similar" Brian?

I see you have to pay for this one - does it really work or have
tv catch up and the others found a way to block it?

Well this site is one of many that don't need hiding or proxies but say they will be pay to view.  So far it hasn't happened but not everyone seems to be so lucky and yes some are scrambled. When they start charging it also should be relatively cheap. I registered but when I log on now I just skip it and watch quite a bit on it as it seems to work okay.

Someone has told me that he has this £5 a month package but that the ITV channels break up. He downloads them and watches them later. Does everyone have this problem?

I have tried it & when channels are scrambled I try the low speed if there is one & find that works if not try the channel again & it then seems not to be scrambled.Sometimes you need to go onto another channel then back to the one that was scrambled & it seems to work.

Question - on the nights when internet speed is low or there is a lot of usage (and consequently lots of buffering) we have downloaded BBC channels from My Private Network through BBC IPlayer and watched the next day - no problems at all.  However we do not seem to be able to download from ITV or Channel 4 without purchasing from ITunes. Has anybody found a way?

Lance - you need to set up the VPN (Virtual private Network) or it won't work. This hides your IP address so that country restrictions are bypassed.

If you go back to their homepage and click on 'Get Started' it shows you how to set the VPN up. Click on 'set up for windows vista'

A trick I discovered was to download from BBC iplayer using the "More downloads" option, choose "Portable devices" the file is about a third of the normal download size. Save the file to the desktop & right click on the file, choose "open with" & then "Media Player" Open to full screen. Picture quality is more than good enough.

You cannot download ITV and Channel 4. Channel 4 used to have a download option but when they relaunched their new service they got rid of it. ITV have never had a download facility.

I never download them, I just watch them on the ITV Catch Up & Channel 4 On Demand. It was fine yesterday afternoon as I watched Deal or No Deal (sad I know!!) but then last night I lost total access to the VPN & haven't got it back since.

Don`t know if anyone can help as still having a bit of trouble connecting LCD TV to the Computer.  Do I need a 15 pin VGA cable and a HDMI or will I get a picture on the TV with just one of these, and what is the best option to go for.  Also do you have to pay for Filmon.com as a monthly subscription to get the TV Channels.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I also have the same problem!! Plus BBC has a lower bandwidth option and you can download (via portable devices>media player). ITV is an absolute nightmare and Channel4OD is not much better!!! Any help or suggestions welcome.

I haven't tried this (only just heard about it) so please no questions and if it's crap - don't shoot the messenger.....

There is an internet cafe at the bottom of deliktas (next to the plastic cow) which is now offering some sort of service. When i'm out-and-about i'll go in and have a face-to-face chat to learn the score.
You can view the website here - REMOVED
UPDATE:
I've just become a member but there's nothing there yet, don't know when the system will be live or what it entails, as i said - i'll nip in for a chat next time i'm down there...

Our neighbours have had this system for 1 month working perfectly. We got a 2 day trial but didnt seem to work for us. The picture was coming and going and not streaming properly. Have just spoken to our neighbours to get the latest from them before i answered you and right now the system is down. They said its starting to be very inconsistent. No, we are not going to have it at the moment, cause i feel he needs more time to work out the problems. Would not recomend to friends just now but hopefully it will be up and running soon. Will keep you posted.

We have been using uktvaccess.com for over a month now. I got it from the Fethiye Times website. £11.99 for 3 months. You can cancel at anytime. We got a very prompt answer to my initial questions and we are very happy with it.  No problems so far except for a small amount of buffering at peak times.
