Does anyone know please how to add another driver to the log book. As everyone knows that only the names on the log book can drive the car. Thank you

Hi Sopcaz, I don't know where you would do this, but do you realise that if you do this, when you want to sell the car you will both have to be present do the paperwork - this info is 'hot off the press' from the Fethiye Community Meeting today held by the Consulate.

We went to one of the agencies opposite the Traffic Police offices. Explained what we wanted to do. He did everything for us. If I remember correctly we left the Ruhsat with the Police and collected it later in the day.

In response to The Crinklies post . We only added as a named driver and not joint ownership.

Any name added to the Ruhsat is considered to be a part owner.

Hello Apollo. Have you any idea of the costs as friends of mine did this in Kaş and it cost lots. Thanks.

I cannot remember but it was not expensive. We did this about 3 years ago.

No.  My wife is the owner as per Ruhsat and I am listed as a named driver.

Something I forgot to add was that the guy in the agency thought that we wanted to change the ownership to shared. He wrote the letter for us to take to the Notary. Fortunately we bumped into Koray in the Notary's office and we rectified the mistake.

Three years ago you would not have had to have your wife as a name on the ruhsat, as any family member with the same surname could have driven the vehicle. NOW, as stated at the Consul's meeting this morning, any name on the ruhsat is considered to be part owner. I suggest if you want clarification to take it up with the Consul.
