cathy h of the 3C's Committee has asked me to update members regarding this year's Spring Craft Fair.
Cathy continues to have important personal business to intend to but wanted to be sure CBF members were kept up to date.
I am of course glad to help. So here is the updated poster.

Do you know why the positioning of it has changed? I know that the owners upthe main Street used to get very awkward about it. They used to play hell about the Auction and any events being on the front.. When we tried to be fair and get them some customers they all went mad because it was blocking their businesses..
-
Sorry mercury I don't know :(

It was a lovely day and I managed to get a couple of nice handmade goods but was very disappointed to see that there was quite a lot if traders there too.

Sadly, that was always pretty impossible to prevent. It was tried & they either got friends to book the space or they just turned up anyway, grabbed any random stall, with the attitude of "it's MY country & I'll do what the hell I like". I recall one trader physically threatening a committee member in the past.
-
Would it be worthwhile having a clause in the licence (from the council) for next year to specifically disallow "traders" and liaising with the Zabita to have a presence on the day? I know it would be hard to define what exactly constitutes a "trader", but I'm sure with a bit of thought someone from the belediye or FETAV could come up with one.

Even the traders pay for there stalls if you don’t want anything ther selling .just walk past .only my view ????

I think the CBF question mark key might be stuck lately
It’s not about walking by, it’s about people being allowed to conduct their business at a charity event.
-
This is about traders who don't pay for a stall but just set up and threaten those running it. The charities don't pay for their stalls but The 3cs have to pay for the tables.. they are out of pocket if some cheeky swine turns up and just take one of the stalls allocated to someone who has paid.. It is not unknown for people selling car boot tat to turn up as well.. Zabita usually send them on their way.. Thats if they turn up as arranged or arrive too late.. This is Turkey.. I was once threatened and almost attacked ( saved by Peter) and told to "f***k off as it wasn't my country it was his..
-
I assume by traders you mean market traders? Just asking because there were plenty of the craft stalls that were obviously run by those who sell their wares away from the fair.
I’m not complaining - most of the stuff was lovely - just clarifying what you meant so that I can look out for them in the future.
-
Only craft stalls are allowed but others just turn up..Some even with car boot crap.. The Zabita a useless.
