Government announced that OTV (Special Consuming Tax) for cars will be reduced for 3 months . This means , brand new car prices will be cheaper for 3 months.
-
Thank you Cenk, do you know how much of a reduction this will make?
-
% 18.5 for the cars up to 1600 cc
-
I trust that your active involvement means everything is well on the mend; will you be going skiing again?
As you may remember, we plan to be living in Calis at the end of the year, so we are hoping for an even better reduction later on.
We will come and see Olga and yourself in May. 8)

The bvt has also been disounted for all white goods for the next three months.
-
Cenk,do you mean the inclusive costs of the cars to 1600cc have been reduced by 18.50%.I understood it was the tax element that was reduced?
-
The tax OTV was % 37 before and reduced to % 18,5 and this reflects to prices as an approximately % 15 discount.
Alan , this discounts ends in mid of june , prices will be up again after mid of june.

Looked at a Toyota Auris last week at TL38,350
Yesterday price had droped to TL33,100 saving over TL5k
Showroow was packed yesterday. Salesman told me he had taken more orders on the last few days than in the last few months so this tactic seems to be working.
Didnt Goblin Brown knock just 2.5% off VAT to stimulate the UK economy
-
Are you serious? GB took 2.5% off 17.5% VAT, this is a reduction on a tax of 37% to which 18% VAT is also payable!
Brown reduced VAT from 17.5% to 15%, Turkey reduce tax from around 55% down to 36.5% and you think Turkey has a tax policy the UK could learn from?
Amazing.
