Restaurant near ghost village
« on: September 06, 2010, 17:51:26 PM »
Hi all i'm not sure of the mane of this place but an old friend wanted to take us for a meal while out there and he took us up to near the ghost vilage. It was great you ordred the meat you wanted and they give you a bbq and you cook it as you want it. It was the best night out we had. The only thing we didn't cook was the lamb and they cook it underground for hours and it is the best. If anyone knows the name i would love to know so we could try and get there ourself next time. I would recomend it we would have gone everynight if we could have.

Thanks
Kazzie

Or could be Oba - just after Cin Bal on same side of the road.
Highly recommend this place and particularly the lamb tandir if you want to relax in peace in a great setting.

It could be either Oba Kebab or Cin Bal.

The lamb "cooked underground" is Lamb Tandir (you can get the same result at home by using a slow cooker).

sounds like Oba - and yes the Tandir is to die for.   We love sitting in the day beds and watching the chickens scamper around.  My perfect day is a day on the beach, back via Kaya for an 'oba'.  Chilling out at sunset.  Bliss

They're both on the road into Kaya from Hisaronu. Cin Bal is the first that you'll see on the right. There are 2 entrances, so if you miss the first one the other is about 200 metres later. The entrance to Oba Kebab is a further 250 metres towards the village and is signposted on the right, down Eski Okul Sok.

If you're using the dolmus to get there just ask the driver to drop you at whichever one you want. He'll understand.
