I think it is great to have a choice of entertainment as you say Sleuth, Bert is very talented and to be fair I think most local  entertainers would only have a max of 30 songs they know, so will sing the same songs each week.

more sensible to have it on a different night than Wed, not enough customers knocking about for this kind of competitivness,  Cafe Inn has got 6 other nights to attract more customers than he will get on a Wed, methinks

Let's hope neighbouring bars don't complain to the police when these places have live singers on and are full why they are empty. Like happened when Denis Davey was playing to a packed house at Nicki & Koray's Calis Park Hotel. Let me think, which place was it next door that phoned the police & got the show shut down...

I remember that night well Keith. We were all having a fantastic time when it was suddently bought to a halt because of complaints from next door and it was nowhere near midnight...more like 10.30 if I remember correctly. Such a shame. Caused by jealousy because the place was full of people enjoying themselves.
