We walked passed on Tuesday and I spoke to a member of staff and I said we had the best meal last year of our holiday and the fish was excellent, he said things had changed and they were concentrating on steaks , but the fish was ok, I thought it odd and asked if the manager from last year was there and said he was running another place, it hasn't given me any confidence , his attitude was a little off considering I'd paid quite a compliment, if they are specialising in steak, I think I will give it a miss and go to Manchero in Fethiye

In my opinion they would be better off concentrating on basic standards of cooking and service.

No, would not bother Des.  Eating out and ordering Steak is just boriing for us.
I can remember years ago when I first started going out on dates and a date to Berni Inn with a steak was the thing to do, because menus and food where not that exciting then.  Nowadays you get such wonderful menus and great food, restaurants have all moved on.  I see no point in ordering steak.

Ah, Berni Inns. Menu: prawn cocktail; steak, chips and frozen peas (warmed up of course); followed by Black Forest gateaux. Classic! Not the best gift that Bristol ever presented to the world. But Bristol had no restaurants that my family could afford until the The Rummer opened in 1956.

What about the schooners of sherry. They gave a terrible headache the next morning.  ;)

I was merely a lad. My parents didn't allow me a schooner - or even a glass. I can't remember the last time I heard anyone order a schooner or anyone ask for a sherry in a pub for that matter.
