Hi all

we will be visiting our property for the first time in may 2011. We take ownership from the builder at this stage. We will have top set up a bank account for our direct debits. Recently HSBC have been advertising that they offer banking overseas. Not sure if this includes Turkey. My question is are we better to choose a bank we are familiar with such as HSBC or open an account with a Turkish Bank. Our estate agent said he would help us set up an account in Turkey when we arrive. Comments appreciated.

Mike

Hi Mike,Do not choose a bank in turkey based on your knowledge or experience of UK banking. You can see from the link from Anne some of the queries and questions that will arise. From personal experience of a number of banks here you would be hard pressed to find a better account manager than Alper.See his post above from banker!Good luck.
