Interest rate HSBC

Just checked bank account, interest rate dropped on savings account from 8.5% last month to 5.5% this month. Any one noticed other banks with such a big drop?

I am not sure if your bank works like this but at TEB - they always default to the bank base rate on the day my time deposit period ends and then the next day it goes up!

The first time this happened I got on the phone and complained and after they explained I have seen it do this many many times but only on the anniversary date.
