Bottled and canned draught beers are very popular Steve.

I know it's popular KKOB but my point was that as soon as you put it in a bottle it can not be called draught beer.

Wikipedia - Draught beer, also spelt draft, is beer served from a cask or keg rather than from a bottle or can.

Collins Dictionary - Draught beer (noun) beer which is stored in bulk, esp in a cask, as opposed to being bottled.

Oxford English - Draught Beer (noun) beer that is stored in and served from a large container, usually a barrel. Many people who know a lot about beer think draught beer is better than beer sold in bottles or tins.

The Beer, Wine & Spirits Association - When you see this term plastered on beer cans, then it should be called Canned Draught as the can contains a "widget" (invented by Guinness) to artificially carbonate the beer to make it taste like a draught beer.

Advertising it as such is like selling unsliced ham in slices.   :)

Thanks for taking the time to post an explanation Steve. Having worked for Boddington's in the early 90's it was a bit wasted on me though.   ;)

You can learn a heck of a lot in the distribution business.  ;)

Why would I want to pay £1.29 for a bottle of Efes over here. Can't stand the stuff over in Turkey. Much prefer Tuborg Malt,a much nicer drink. Don't suppose you can get this anywhere. ;D ;D

I'm with you.  You'd have to pay me a lot more than £1.49 to drink it.

The other thing that gets me is the fact it's sold everywhere in 500ml bottles.  Hot summers day...  unless you neck it at a rate of knots the latter part of the bottle (or glass) ends up warm.

The Spanish caña measure is perfect for hot days.  A bit less than a half pint so cold from start to finish - thirsty?  No problem, just order more.

What's needed is a "CONDOM", "Don't Titter Madam". It's a polystyrene sleeve or container that goes over the bottle and keeps the beer cold. They have them in Thailand and they work extremely well.

Yeah, they do work - but that would take away one of my reason to moan about Efes  :)

If you're that fond of Deuchars, why don't you get over to The Somerset House in Clifton ?  :)

No, it's a fake.  I wrote to Lidl's head office before this shop opened to ask if they were opening a branch in Oludeniz.  They wrote back  to say that this shop is not one of their branches.  It is a fake.

Delboy's shop is genuine, I went there to buy some holiday luggage. He didn't have any in the shop so he got the suitcase from the van.
