Huge water bill
« on: March 27, 2018, 16:10:18 PM »
Hi all,

Has anyone on the forum ever received a really huge water bill and been able to sort this out with the Water Board.

We received a water for January of over 340tl, February was 5tl  as usual, the apartment has been empty since October.

Any advice would be most welcome

Did you check if the consumption on the meter and bill are matching ? It may be wrong reading.
Or if you have a tap in your garden or patio, maybe someone using them without your permition.

No garden taps, the meter reading seems correct for the period for February and March, February measured 1 unit, March so far is 3, we arrived on the 6th. But January was 65 units. It's about our usual annual amount.

340 tl is too much even for a property that is not empty and yours was empty in January. Can it be an outstanding debt from last year ?

It seems horrendously high but it’s worth checking if you are paying for any new infrastructure or maybe a new meter?

Other than that - if it’s consumption then you have a thief somewhere close by.

Could it be that your management company haven't paid the bill for a while & , in effect, paid the entire year in one amount?

Sadly not for a year, have found the original bill lying in the garden, near the water meter.

Show the bill to someone who speaks Turkish. Maybe there is an explanation on it.
