First things first - Is it only bad on video calls Lance? I mean, if you do a 'normal' phone conversation is it ok? There's a lot more info to get from A to B with video calls. Can you hear her sometimes, or 100% never?

Lance,

Get your friend to go into skype then click tools and then options. Then click on sound devices and make sure she is using the correct audio device from the drop down list - especially the audio out one.

She could also try clicking on the skype test call to see if that helps.

Simple point Lance has she got the Microphone mute button pressed. Get her to do a Skype test call to find out. :)

Lance - is she using a webcam with a built in mike? If so she needs to go into the settings I mentioned above and change the audio out so that her webcam is the default one. It's probably set on windows default device at the moment.
