Internet connection from one pc
« on: January 23, 2011, 13:53:36 PM »
Hi, have tried searching this but not found the solution, have used a router for years with destop and laptops and netbooks but last week it suddenly become possible for only one pc to be on the internet at any one time. We need to disconnect connection on one of the pcs before being able to connect another. Have searched all pc forums etc but can not seem to find a question about this.

Any help appreciated.

David

Can the non-connected computers see the wireless connection, but can't connect to it David? Or do you mean they can't see the connection at all...

I had similar probs logging two laptops to my router and couldn't crack it until I took the router access password out.

Thanks again for your replies, each pc has wireless connection active to the router and can access the router interface. We access the internet using a username and password provided by the isp which is entered once we click on the relevant network connection icon. When we click on the connection icon on a different pc, whilst another is connected, we click to connect but it does not proceed. The error message comes up as if they cannot connect to the internet. Looks as if I may need to contact ISP to reset our username and password although I am always reluctant to involve them. They never seem to know what they are doing and I end up with them trying to get me to check the processes that I have usually carried out.

We have intalled a wireless system in yaniklar 1 Modem and 2 access points covers over 160 properties not all on line at the same time of course when i checked yesterday there were 27 on line possible there is a conflict on ip address so it can be done are you erasing any old data relating to wireless connections and starting anew connection

If you know how to clear and re-config your ip address it might work. I would do that and then switch off/reset your router.
