In task manager performance jumps from 5 % - 100 % and computer stops.

Any ideas. Have run full scan and deleted Trogan (Whatever that is) - nothing reported in second scan. Could have sworn I heard music playing when nothing was open.

The music is provided by God's waiting room. In task manager you should be able to click the column titles to sort the list by the column you click - by clicking the right column header this should show you in order which processes are using the most resources. Often one will be using way more than everything else - once you know which application it is, you can address it.

highest by far in right hand column VM Size is iexplorer.exe

Ok, just close internet explorer, then open it again. It is possibly as simple as that.

Thanks again - the iexplorer is less but the performance indicator is still dancing up and down.

LOL - our last IT man's stock phrase without fail any time I phoned him was "Oh - I've never heard of that before":(.
