So glad I have anti surge/spike

Yesterday, during storm, loud crack of thunder blew our anti-surge/spike socket (inside is rather sooty now, LOL!).  Our precious computer was protected by it, thank goodness.  Same bolt has mullered the Pharmacy's Computer.  Gold do these for about 35tl and also Kipa do them.  Well worth the money, I'd say.  :D

Yup.  This one was from the UK (we've had it about 10 years).  We opened it and the component was blackened down one side and the casing had soot on it.  It is an extension lead with 6 sockets on, so all our computer set up was plugged to it.

Don't understand why nothing else in house was damaged, but then, I don't understand the workings of 3 phase.  Plus we have a gizmo in the mains box that may or may not be a pile of poo.

I think the power surge leads in Gold have 4 sockets 35tl and the ones in Kipa have 6 for 60.  But don't hold me to those prices  :)
